Ray McDaniel

Ray Glenn McDaniel age 78 of Glen Carbon, IL, born September 24, 1934 in Equality, IL, passed away 3:25pm Wednesday October 3, 2012 at his residence.

He was retired from sales and service for the steel industry.  He was a member of New Bethel United Methodist Church in Glen Carbon, IL, a member of the Masonic lodge #538 in Lockport, IL, an avid reader, was a faithful Red Cross blood donor, loved the outdoors, and was an Air Force veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents William Loran and Juanita nee Tolley McDaniel, two sisters Jean Richmond and JoAnn Flannigan, two brothers David and Jerry McDaniel, two brothers-in-law Jerry Yess and Wayne Flannigan, and a sister-in-law Beverly Eipers.

He is survived by his wife Mardell Yvonne nee Konicek McDaniel whom he married February 27, 1965, two daughters Dana (Rick) Echelmeyer of St. Charles, MO, Karla (Brian) Hohlt of Glen Carbon, IL, six grandchildren Carson, Mallory and Delaney Echelmeyer and Kasey, Lindsey, and Addison Hohlt, a step grandson Gary Echelmeyer, two brothers James (Joan) McDaniel, and Curtis McDaniel both of Mt. Vernon, IL, three sisters Betty Yess of Princeville, IL, Connie (David) Meador of Nashville, TN, and Nancy (Randy) Clinton of Cookeville, TN, a brother-in-law Earl Eipers of Dodge Center, MN, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial visitation will be from 11am to 12 noon on Saturday October 13, 2012 at the New Bethel United Methodist Church in Glen Carbon, IL

Memorial service will be at 12 noon on Saturday October 13, 2012 at the church, with Pastor Bill Adams officiating.  Military honors will be presented at the service.
