Louis Molinar Jr.
Louis Molinar Jr. age 89 of Collinsville, IL, born June 27, 1923 in Virden, IL passed Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at Gottlieb Memorial Hospital in Melrose Park, IL.
Lou graduated from Collinsville High School in 1941 and was a member of the 1941 Baseball State Championship Team. He loved baseball, was a good left handed pitcher, and also was a good steady bowler with a high average at Camelot Bowling Alley in Collinsville. He married his wife Jane Fischer June 18, 1949 and raised three great sons. He helped build a beautiful home in Lakeview Acres and improved it many times. He engaged good times with his buddies after working long and hard all day as a plumber. He retired after 35 years as a plumber and then enjoyed some relaxation although he always kept busy. He enjoyed traveling with his sons and their families. He had taught his sons great work ethics and values and was greatly proud of them and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Ann nee Borgo Molinar, two sisters: Lena and Stella, and two brothers: Dominic and John.
He is survived by his wife, Jane nee Fischer Molinar, whom he married on June 18, 1949; three sons: Arthur Louis (Cathy) Molinar of Normal, IL, Michael Steven (Vicki) Molinar of Collinsville, IL, and Louis Joseph (Sue) Molinar of St. Charles, IL; nine grandchildren: Amanda Molinar of Normal, IL, Erin (Dusty) Gehrt of Normal, IL, Matthew Molinar of Normal, IL, Christine and Laura Molinar of Quincy, IL, Sarah Molinar of Collinsville, IL, Sam, Staci, and Kevin Molinar of St. Charles, IL; one great granddaughter, Annabelle Lynn Gehrt; two sister-in-laws: Judy Fischer Hendricks of Collinsville, IL, Margaret Molinar of Belleville, IL; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 4pm to 8pm Sunday, September 30, 2012 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 North Center Maryville, IL, with prayer services at 4pm.
Funeral mass will be 10:00am Monday, October 1, 2012 at Our Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Maryville with Father John Beveridge officiating. Burial will be in SS Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery in Collinsville.
