Jane R. Judge-Lane
Jane R. Judge-Lane, age 72 of Edwardsville, IL formerly of Collinsville IL, born May 3, 1939 in St. Louis, MO, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.
Jane was retired from Creative Business Forms and Office Plus in Downtown Collinsville where she worked in sales and was instrumental in the management of the business. She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Prairietown, IL, where she was a former board member of the St. Peter’s Lutheran School, and a former member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Collinsville, IL. She was a 1957 graduate of Southwest High School in St. Louis, MO where she was active in the choir and was on the women’s track team. Jane was appointed by the late Fred Dalton, a past Mayor of Collinsville, to be on the Downtown Collinsville Development Commission, which later became Downtown Collinsville Inc., where she was a member for over 20 years. She served on the Collinsville Unit #10 school board for 12 years, and was an active member of Chapter I K of the P.E.O. Sisterhood. She also served 6 years on the Holiday Shores Homeowners Assn. for the Holiday Shores Lake Community as a board member, Secretary and Vice President.
Jane was a member of the Collinsville Sunrise Kiwanis for over 25 years. She was a past Secretary and President of the club. She received the Kiwanian of the Year award in 1996-97, Diamond 1 Hixon Award, Amador Award, and the Ruby K Pin for recruiting 10 new members to the club within one year. She served as Lt. Governor for Division 31 in 2000-2001, and also had served under various Kiwanis governors. Jane and her husband Rocky co-chaired the Illinois-Eastern Iowa District Mid-Winter Convention held in Collinsville in 2002-2003. She helped start and was a mentor to the Maryville Kiwanis Club. Kiwanis was a big part of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Amalia nee Bogenpohl Hemminghaus, and a brother, Alan Hemminghaus.
She is survived by her husband, George “Rocky” Lane, whom she married April 12, 1997; a son, Mark (Lisa) Judge of Collinsville, IL; two daughters: Suzy (Adam) Strichman of Mechanicsville, VA and Pamela Dubuy of West Monroe, LA and seven grandchildren; step-children: Bill (Julie) Lane of Collinsville, IL; BJ Lane of Collinsville, IL; Becky (Clint) Phelps of Troy, IL; Brett (Jamie) Lane of Collinsville, IL; seven step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be 3PM to 8PM Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 North Center Street, Maryville, IL and from 9AM to 11AM Thursday, April 12, 2012 at St. Peters Lutheran Church, 7183 Renken Road, Prairietown, IL.
Funeral service will be 11AM Thursday, April 12, 2012 at St. Peters Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dale Skeesick officiating. Burial will be in Prairietown Cemetery, Prairietown, IL.
