Mary Kathryn Bauer
Mary Kathryn "Katie" Bauer (nee Grogan), age 75, of Collinsville, IL, born January 29, 1943 in East St. Louis, IL, passed away on Monday, June 11, 2018.
Katie graduated from St. Teresa Academy in East St. Louis, IL in 1961. She married William L. Bauer Sr. on May 20, 1967 and raised three sons. She loved to shop and especially enjoyed time spent with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Bauer Sr.; mother, Mary E. Grogan (nee Capps); father, Walter P. Grogan Sr.; mother-in-law, Mary Bauer (nee Colle); father-in-law, Leo J. Bauer; brother-in-law, John E. Keisler; two sister-in-laws: Mary Ann Duffy (nee Bauer) and Wilma Jean Chase (nee Bauer).
She is survived by her sons, all of Collinsville, IL: William L. (Shelley) Bauer Jr., Michael. P. (Stacey) Bauer Sr. and Gregory D. (Laura) Bauer; 12 grandchildren: Jordan R. Bauer, William L. Bauer, III, Tyffani (Matt) Allen, Brittany (Jeremy) Allen, Kiyah Michelle Allen, Kara S. Bauer (Mitch L. McFarland), Michael P. Bauer Jr., Devlin G. Bauer, Zane and Tagg Baker, Henry O. Bauer, and Penelope J. Bauer; 5 great-grandchildren: Kamdyn, Kyler, Kiliyan, Ava and Willow; two sisters: Margaret A. "Peggy" Kreisler of Fairview Heights, IL and Rosemary (Dennis) Riggs, of Granite City, IL; a brother, Walter P. Grogan Jr. of Collinsville, IL; a sister-in-law, Margaret "Margie" Frailey of Collinsville, IL; numerous nieces and nephews.
Her family wishes to thank numerous family members and friends for assisting and visiting with Katie throughout her illness and especially Laurie Bauer for her love, care and compassion for Katie during the last year.
Visitation will be from 4pm to 8pm on Friday, June 15, 2018 at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 207 Vandalia, Collinsville, IL and from 9:30 am to 10:30 am on Saturday at the church.
Funeral mass will be 10:30 am on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at the church with burial in SS Peter & Paul Cemetery in Collinsville, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church and will be received at the visitation.
