James G. Holshouser
James G. “Groundhog” Holshouser, age 82 of Caseyville, IL, born January 30, 1936 in Granite City, IL, passed away Friday, May 25, 2018 at Caseyville Nursing & Rehab Center in Caseyville, IL.
Groundhog was a retired truck driver for the Teamsters Union. He was an Army veteran and was a past bar manager at the Troy, IL VFW Post #976. He was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Caseyville, IL, and he enjoyed golf and hunting.
He was preceded in death by his parents William and Margaret nee Bryer Holshouser; three brothers: Bill, Jack, and Bob; four sisters: Betty, Delores, Kathryn, and Caroline.
Groundhog is survived by his wife, Betty nee Cox Holshouser of Caseyville, IL, whom he married August 23, 1970; a son, Scott (Heather) Holshouser of Collinsville, IL; two step-daughters: Diana (Kevin) Armes of Austin, TX, and Kathy (Mark) Campbell of Reno, NV; six grandchildren: Marissa (Andrew), Heather, Nathan (Kasey), Bradan, Alyx, and Samantha; one brother, Ed (LaDonna) Holshouser of Glen Carbon, IL; numerous nieces and nephews.
Upon his request he chose cremation. A Celebration of Life will be held on June 23, 2018 at the Troy VFW in Troy, IL.
