Paul S. "Catfish" Parko
Paul S. "Catfish" Parko age 70 of Alton, IL, born February 10, 1941 in St. Louis, MO, passed away Sunday January 8, 2012 4:45 AM at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
He was a retired fork lift operator from the Olin Corporation in East Alton,IL, a navy veteran and loved to fish.
He was preceded in death by his parents Paul G. and Luella Emma nee Ahmann Parko.
He is survived by his wife Nancy nee Steele Parko whom he married March 24, 1973, two sons Aaron Parko and Ryan (Michelle) Parko both of Alton, IL, two daughters Chana (Jim) Murphy of Godfrey, IL and Jeana Parko of Roxana, IL, seven grandchildren David, Christopher, Kayla, Griffin, Gentry, Randilyn, Garrett, a great granddaughter Emma, a sister Melodie Counton of Wood River, IL a sister-in-law Leta McClellan of Wood River, IL, two nephews Jeff (Christi) Counton of Maryville, IL, and Tim (Stacey) Counton of Dorsey, IL, great nieces and nephews Alyssa, Taylor, Brady, Alli, Hunter, Chase, Tad, Trent, Sydney, and TY.
Memorial services will be held at 3:30pm on Saturday January 14, 2012 at First Assembly of God 781 North 9th Street Wood River, IL 62095 with Rev. Rick Turner officiating. Private burial will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO with full military honors.
