Marvin Patrick Siegele

Marvin Patrick Siegele, age 89 of Collinsville, IL, passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2017.

Marvin was born April 29, 1928, in Herreid, SD, to Arthur and Nell (nee Doolin) Siegele.  The family moved to Franklin Park, IL when Marvin was in high school.  He graduated in 1946 from Leyden High School (Franklin Park, IL) where he was a drummer in the marching band and a member of the National Honor Society. Marvin attended Roosevelt University for two years.  He was a Korean War Army Veteran stationed at Red Stone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL. Marvin moved from Chicago to downstate Illinois as one of the founding owner/operators of St. Louis Flexicore Inc. in Fairmont City, IL. Marvin worked at St. Louis Flexicore, Inc. from 1956 to 2011.  Marvin was a 40+year member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, District Council of Greater St. Louis Local #5. Marvin enjoyed boating, camping, flying, and was an avid Cardinals fan.  Whatever the activity, what Marvin enjoyed most was being with family and friends. He loved his devoted canine companion, Lucky.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy L. (nee Larremore); his parents; a sister, Winifred Larson; and three brothers: Thomas, Royal and William.

He is survived by four daughters: Deborah Siegele (James Hu) of College Station, TX, Denise (David) Lyons of Collinsville, Kimberly (Mark) Moore of Collinsville, and Shelly Siegele (Jim Cook) of Orlando, FL; three grandchildren: Stephanie (Derek Brandt) Lyons, Shannon Lyons, and Logan Moore; four great grandchildren: Charlie, Oscar, Ryan, and Sam; numerous nieces and nephews.

His wishes were to be cremated and a private burial will be held at a later date.

Memorials can be made to the St. Louis Society for the Blind and Visually Impaired ( or the Multiple Sclerosis Society and can be mailed to the funeral home.
