Steven Scott Lucas
Steven Scott Lucas, age 54 of Collinsville, IL born February 25, 1957 in Granite City, IL passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Steven worked for Reed Rubber Company in St. Louis, MO for 29 years as a computer estimator. He was a member of the Newsong Fellowship Church in Edwardsville, IL where he really enjoyed being a bass player in the church band, where he was affectionately known to members as “Pinkie”. Steven enjoyed playing music and horse racing at Lexington, KY, and was an organ donor.
He is survived by his parents, Robert and Wanda June nee McChristian Lucas of Collinsville; a step-son, Bobby (Carrie) Robbins of Wright City, MO; a step-daughter, Tracy Gibson of Granite City, IL; half brother, Dwayne (Sandy) McCabe of Hillsboro, MO; half sister Kay (Curt) Everding of Redbud, IL; caring aunts and uncles, Judy (Mike Bonet) Winkler of Collinsville and Janie (John) Khoury of Kinosha, WI, and special granddaughter Chelsy Gibson of Granite City, IL.
The family would like to thank Rita Heimann, Matt Swinford, Rosie Koziol, and Keith Winkler for the many trips to Barnes Hospital. The family would also like to thank Pastor’s Dave Remoser, Tim Giltner, Jay Westra, and Gary Steffaniak, who are at Newsong Fellowship and Metro Community Church for bringing food, praying for Steven, and making visits.
Steven will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at Newsong Fellowship Church Monday, January 2, 2012 at 7 pm. Graveside services will be held at Coulterville City Cemetery, Coulterville IL, 1 pm Saturday, April 14, 2012.
