Charles Franklin Cason
Charles Franklin Cason, age 90 of Fairmont City, IL, passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at Rosewood Care Center in Edwardsville, IL.
Charles was a retired machinist for Reynolds Aluminium. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Fairmont City, IL and the Merchant Marines. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, camping, boating, and riding his Honda Goldwing motorcycle. He liked to build and fly RC Model Airplanes.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ella nee Hayden Cason; second wife, Fairy Johns Cason; his parents; Wilson Fred and Maud Pearl nee Powell Cason; a son, Charles Keith Cason; brothers and sisters: J.B. Cason, Dorcas Hassard, Wanda Hassard, William Cason, Gladys Buck, and Gene Cason.
He is survived by two daughters: Karen (Terry) Stanton of Collinsville, IL and Kena (Gil) Turner of Troy, IL; a daughter-in-law: Mary Cason of Caseyville, IL; four grandchildren: Kyle (Katie) Turner, Kristin (Zachary) Jones, Ryan (Brie) Cason, Craig (Tiffany) Cason; five great grandchildren: Jovie, Willow, River, Levi and Tyce; stepchildren: Sandy Haney and Hugh (Carol) Johns; step grandchildren and great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 9am to 11am on Monday, July 3, 2017 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 2716 N. 42nd Street, Fairmont City, IL.
Funeral mass will be 11am following the visitation with Father David Wilke Celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Fairview Heights, IL.
Memorials may be made to Vitas Hospice or in the form of masses and will be accepted at the visitation, or can be mailed to the funeral home.
