Lois M. Miesner, 88, of Glen Carbon, IL, formerly of Farrar, died June 9, 2017 at Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur, MO.

She was born September 20, 1928 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, daughter of George H. and Frances A. (Lueders) Keen. She and Gilbert Paul “Gib” Miesner were married on February 3, 1951. He preceded her in death on December 7, 2010.

Lois was a loving and faithful mother of 8 who always thought of others first and remembered exactly what made her loved ones happy, providing a welcoming home. She also was a dedicated working partner in the Miesner Dairy Farm for many years. Lois was a graduate of St. Louis Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing and was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Farrar, Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, and Salem Senior Servants.

Survivors include five sons, Timothy (Susan) Miesner of Houston, TX, Thomas (Kathy) Miesner of Austin, TX, Frederick (Diane) Miesner of Frohna, John (Glenda) Miesner of Fairfax, VA, Daniel (Laura) Miesner of Frohna and three daughters, Kristine (Rodney) Sherrill of Carterville, IL, Deborah (Thomas) Hart of Rome, GA and Sarah (Harold) Goldammer of Edwardsville, IL, nineteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister, Ruth Keen.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 26th at Meridian Village in Glen Carbon, Illinois at 1:00 pm in the chapel with Chaplain Brad Thomas officiating. Visitation following from 2:00 – 5:00 pm in the chapel. There will be another visitation on Tuesday, June 27 from 3:00 – 6:00 pm at Salem Lutheran Church, Farrar, Missouri.

Memorials preferred to Lutheran Hour Ministries, Salem Lutheran Church, and American Bible Society. Young & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. in Perryville, MO provided the arrangements.
