Clyde W. Bailey, Jr.

Clyde W. Bailey, Jr., age 83 of Collinsville, IL, born September 30, 1933 in Akron, OH, passed away on Monday, May 8, 2017 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL.

Clyde was a retired truck driver for the former Yellow Freight Company. He was a teamster for 36 years having driven 3 million miles without an accident or ticket. He was the owner of Bailey’s Archery in Collinsville. Clyde was an Air Force veteran, Shriner, member of the Collinsville Masonic Lodge #712, an avid hunter and fisherman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde W. Bailey, Sr. and Cora nee Reinhold Bailey; a grandson, Davey Bailey; a brother, Richard "Dick" Bailey; and a sister, Delores Burkett.

He is survived by his wife, Rita nee Wolfhope Bailey, whom he married July 27, 1958; two sons: David (Sheryl) Bailey of Kansas City, MO and Clyde (Donna) Bailey III of Troy, IL; a daughter, Delores "Pete" Whitt of Caseyville, IL; three grandchildren: Megan Bailey, Ashley (Norman) Rost, and Joe Bailey; three great grandchildren: Zach Bailey, Grace Bailey and Jackson "Critter" Rost; and Grizzly dog.

Visitation will be from 4pm to 7pm on Friday, May 12, 2017 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, with a Masonic service and the evening will conclude with Air Force military honors at 7pm.

Memorials may be made to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital and will be received at the funeral home.
