Lloyd C. Pieper

Lloyd C. Pieper, age 86 of Maryville, IL formerly of Cahokia, IL born January 21, 1930 in Nokomis, IL passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2016. 

He was a retired aircraft mechanic for McDonnell Douglas.  After retirement, he worked for Schumacher Service in Belleville, IL.  Lloyd was an Air Force veteran.  He attended SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Collinsville, IL.  He loved to play bingo with his wife, Mary.  He enjoyed buying and selling antiques, dining at buffets, and loved desserts.  But most of all, he loved being with his family. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard J. and Mary E. nee Whittmore Pieper; a granddaughter, Kellsie Lynne Marchbanks; three brothers:  Oscar, Alvin and Jim Pieper; and one sister, Tootie Saatkamp. 

He is survived by his wife, Mary nee Neighbors Pieper, whom he married May 7, 1955; three daughters:  Mary “Christy” Ingram of Champaign, IL, Cindy (David) Lorentzen of Collinsville, IL, and Gail (Danny) Marchbanks of Maryville, IL; one son, Matt (Lisa) Pieper of Monticello, IL; 13 grandkids; 6 great grandchildren; one brother, Ernest (Mary Ann) Pieper of Deer Park, TX; numerous nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be from 3pm to 8pm on Sunday, October 30, 2016 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, Maryville, IL and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 31, 2016 at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Collinsville, IL. 

Funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 31, 2016 at the church with Father John Beveridge celebrant.  Burial with military honors will be in Calvary Cemetery, Edwardsville, IL. 

Memorials may be made to Kellsie’s Hope and will be received at the funeral home.
