Ellen Marie Kibler
Ellen Marie Kibler, age 95 of Glen Carbon, IL formerly of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, born February 26, 1921 in Akron, OH was crowned with everlasting life at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at Meridian Village in Glen Carbon, IL.
She was born the second child to Arthur and Marie Neiger in Akron, OH. She attended Zion Lutheran Church in Akron, OH where she was baptized, confirmed and married. She married Richard W. Kibler on February 25, 1944 at Zion Lutheran Church in Akron, OH and they were married for nearly 50 years. During Ellen’s working years, she was a high school secretary in Cuyahoga Falls, OH. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Collinsville, and a former member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Cuyahoga Falls, OH.
Ellen provided a strong Christian witness of marriage and family life. That priority on family has been passed onto her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and will be cherished forever. Ellen loved and believed Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior; and she shared that love openly with those around her.
She was preceded in death by parents: Arthur and Marie nee Reusch Neiger; her beloved spouse, Richard Winfield Kibler; a son, Rev. Paul Kibler; and a sister, Margaret.
She is survived by two daughters: Lois (Rev. William) Engfehr of Collinsville, IL and Christine (Tom) O’Hearn of Frisco, TX; daughter-in-law, Marlene Kibler of Charlotte, NC; eight grandchildren: Nathan (Brianne) Kibler of Norris, TN, Andrew (Tricia) Engfehr of O’Fallon, IL, Amy (Pete) Tyler of Charlotte, NC, Leah (Corey) Meyer of Collinsville, IL, Matthew (Erin) Engfehr of Dunlap, IL, Michael Reid of St. Petersburg, FL, Ryan O’Hearn and Caitlin O’Hearn both of Frisco, TX; eight great-grandchildren: Grace Meyer, Noah and Ruth Engfehr, Ella and Victoria Tyler, Emerson Kibler, Jordan and Jonah Engfehr.
Visitation will be from 2pm to 4pm on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1300 Beltline Road, Collinsville, IL.
Funeral service will be held at 4pm at the church with Rev. William Engfehr officiating. Burial will be held in Chestnut Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Cuyahoga Falls, OH on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church in Cuyahoga Falls, OH or Lutheran Hour Ministries, and will be received at the visitation.
