Mae "Liz" E. Eberle

Mae "Liz" Elizabeth Eberle age 86 of Glen Carbon, IL, formerly of Collinsville, IL, born February 10, 1930, passed away at 3:10am on Sunday May 29, 2016 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL.

Liz retired from “The Order of the Veiled Prophet” in St. Louis in 1989 after serving as administrative director for many years.  She upheld the privacy wishes of the organization until the end.  She enjoyed family, friends, cards, bingo, travel, and candy.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Carl James Eberle whom she married May 28, 1957, her parents John “Jack” and Mary “May” nee Greasley Kuntz, her son Michael (Mikey), brothers George, and Harry “Bub”, and sisters Eleanor (who raised her after her parents death), Marie, and Irene.

She is survived by a son; Joseph (Geri) Dix of Mclean, VA, two daughters; Mary (Jim) Rocca of Glen Carbon, IL, and Liz (Joe) Feldmann of Bradenton, FL, her grandchildren who were her heart, Carrie (Tim) Carlisle of Collinsville, IL, Amy (Derek) Collins of Troy, IL, Anthony (Alicia) Rocca of Glen Carbon, IL, Zachary (Sarah) Feldmann of Bradenton, FL, Jacob (Hannah) Feldmann of St. Louis, MO, Erin and Kyle Dix of Mclean, VA.  Her great grandchildren were the twinkle in her eye, Logan, Lily, Riley, Kade, twins Lena and James, and Emma Mae. A sister-in-law; Betty Eberle of Collinsville, IL, nieces; Jenny (John), and Sandy (Frank), and great nephews, Kirk, Michael, and Chase.

Last but not least our family would like to thank the extraordinary staff of caretakers at Eden Village, especially Kathleen, we love you.

Memorial visitation will be from 5pm to 7pm on Friday June 3, 2016 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville, IL.

Memorial service will be at 10am on Saturday June 4, 2016 at the funeral home with Father John Beveridge officiating.  Burial will be in SS Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery in Collinsville, IL.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital and will be accepted at the funeral home.
