Rev. Dr. W.F. Hischke
Rev. Dr. W. F. Hischke, age 83 of Collinsville, IL born December 8, 1932 in Suring, WI, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at 8:22 p.m. at his residence.
His schooling was in Suring, college in Milwaukee, and seminary in St. Louis, MO. Dr. Hischke served as a Lutheran pastor for 40 years with churches in Rockford, IL, Whitehall, MI, Hamel, IL and St. Louis, MO. After retirement, he served as a volunteer at a mission church in Siberia (Russia), and as visiting professor at the seminary in Pretoria, South Africa. He also volunteered for years with Habitat for Humanity, Meals on Wheels, Faith in Action, Laborers for Christ, and Willoughby Farm. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Collinsville, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Martha (nee Struck) Hischke; and three brothers: Karl, Martin and Roland Hischke.
He is survived by his wife, Anita (nee Roth) Hischke, whom he married July 16, 1960; three children: Mark (Rhonda) Hischke of Algonquin, IL; Rachel and Deborah Hischke of Collinsville, IL; five grandchildren: Sarah (Kyle), Justin, Joanna, Michael, Rebekah; three great grandchildren: Persephone, Fiona and Quinn; four sisters: Margaret Golding, Irmgard Becher, Ruth (Orlyn) Wik, and Mona Pfefferkorn, all of WI; a brother, Paul (Lynn) Hischke of WI; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 4pm to 7pm on Friday, April 15, 2016 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1300 Belt Line Road, Collinsville, IL and Saturday, April 16, 2016 from 10am until the time of the service at 11am.
Funeral service will be at 11am on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at the church with Rev. Michael Walther officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the donor’s choice and will be accepted at the church.
