Bill was a lifelong Collinsville resident graduating in 1951 from CHS then went onto college to attain his Bachelor’s Degree at SIU Carbondale. He started his career as a salesman with Central Fire & Safety (formerly Allsafe) and retired from the former Banner Fire & Equipment in Collinsville, IL selling industrial safety and fire-fighting equipment in a six state area. He was a Marine Veteran. During the Korean War he attained the rank of Sergeant with the Air Intelligence Division of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was awarded lifetime membership with the Collinsville Soccer Association. These were his finest hours. His last wish to all was to “seek out” the most beautiful sound in the world – that of children laughing at play.
