Jurgen Peter Sandbrink

Jurgen Peter Sandbrink, age 72 of Maryville, IL born July 15, 1942 in Germany, passed away at 11:56 a.m. on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL. 

He was a retired security guard for Government Defense Mapping in St. Louis, MO.  He was a former owner and operator of Parkway Catering in Clayton, MO and also worked for Burlington Northern Railroad as an office manager.  He was a Vietnam Army Veteran and was a Silver Star recipient.  He was an avid golfer, and enjoyed being with his family. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gustav Von Peter and Annalesa nee Lechenbush Sandbrink; stepfather, Norman W. Moore; a sister, Jonella Modrovsky; and a brother, Roger Moore. 

He is survived by his wife, Janet nee Brinson Sandbrink, whom he married October 11, 1961; a son, Jeffrey Scott (Bonnie) Sandbrink of St. Charles, MO; a daughter, Dana (Jeff) Bemis of Collinsville, IL; a granddaughter, Valerie Sandbrink; two sisters:  Anita Ebl and Karen Gill both of of Troy, IL; numerous nieces and nephews. 

Graveside services will be at 11am on Friday, September 19, 2014 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO with full military honors.  Father Joseph Havrilka will be officiating.  

The family has requested everyone attending the service please dress in Hawaiian or casual attire in honor Pete. 

Memorials may be given to the Disabled American Veterans and will be accepted at the funeral home.
