Leighton B. Stubban

Leighton B. Stubban age 81 of Glen Carbon, IL, born, August 28, 1932 in Plentywood, MT, passed away at 6:45pm on Friday June 27, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was a retired electrical engineer from Ralcorp in St. Louis, MO.  He was a member of the Troy United Methodist Church in Troy, IL, the church choir, and was a US Coast Guard veteran.  In his spare time he loved sailing, building model ships, and doting on his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents John and Gladys nee Greenlee Stubban, a son Craig Stubban, and a brother Craig Stubban.

He is survived by his wife Jeanette nee Burchette Stubban whom he married on January 6, 1973, a son Milo (Debbie) Stubban of Edwardsville, IL, two daughters Vanessa (Greg) Perez of Allen, TX, and Scarlett Whitener of Lexington, NC, two grandsons; Derek (Kim) Conway, and Michael Stubban both of Edwardsville, IL, a granddaughter Jeanette Mouser of Edwardsville, IL, a great granddaughter Molly Conway, a sister Lorraine Johnson of Plentywood, MT, a brother John Stubban of Redding, CA, numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial visitation will be from 4pm to 7pm on Thursday July 3, 2014 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home 2800 North Center Street Maryville, IL.

Memorial service will be held at 7pm Thursday July 3, 2014 at the funeral home with Rev. Dennis Price officiating.

Memorials may be made to the Troy United Methodist Church or to VITAS Hospice and will be received at the funeral home.
