Rev. Frieda I. Kerfoot
Rev. Frieda I. nee Richards Kerfoot, age 91 of Maryville, IL born August 10, 1922 in Zalma, MO passed away at 3:55 am on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at her residence.
Frieda had worked for the former Tri-City Grocery Store in Collinsville and Highland. She became an ordained Assemblies of God minister in 1944, and enjoyed working with the youth. Kids were her passion. She ministered at the Assembly of God in Collinsville, as well as Glenview Assembly of God in Granite City working with the youth and seniors. She was often called to preach revivals in churches in southeast Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Jacob and Lottie Myrl nee Adams Richards; a daughter, Dorothy Hopper; a brother, Lee Richard; a grandson, Charlie Manegre; and a great great grandchild.
She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Roy F. Kerfoot, whom she married November 15, 1941; a son, James (Lynne) Kerfoot of Maryville; two daughters: Betty Goforth of Maryville and Donna (Robert) Manegre of Valley Park, MO; 23 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 4pm to 8pm on Sunday, February 2, 2014 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 North Center Street, Maryville, IL.
Funeral service will be at 1pm on Monday, February 3, 2014 at the funeral home with Rev. Gary Wilson and Rev. Tim O’Keefe officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
Memorial donations may be made to Illinois District Council Synergy Fund, a fund which pioneers new churches.
