Nancy Jo Melton
Nancy Jo Melton, age 57 of Maryville, born July 20, 1955 in St. Louis, MO, passed away at 8:25 am on December 17, 2012 at her residence.
She was retired from Southwestern Bell in Information and Technology in St. Louis, MO and Holy Cross School Parish Secretary in Cuba, MO. She was a member of Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Maryville and Assumption Abbey Associates. Nancy enjoyed prayer, making rosaries, shopping, and yoga. She loved her dogs Angel and Sarah Jane, and cats Sunny cat and Mr. Fluffy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell D. and Mary nee Acquisto Hinkle.
She is survived by her husband, Mike Melton, whom she married February 18, 1977; a brother, Dale (Yalanda) Hinkle of Potomic, MT; four sisters: Jane (Dave) Schroeder of Maumelle, AR, Cindy (Randy) Malawy of Edwardsville, IL, Michele (David) Kinaan of Sacramento, CA, Paula (Jim) Beasley of Waterloo, IL; nieces and nephews: Matt and Emily Schroeder, Ryan and Jeff Malawy, Casey Kinaan, Eric and Amy Hinkle, Amber Beasley; great nephew, Jacob Schroeder; great niece, Grace Hinkle; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Vigil prayer service will be at 5pm on Friday, December 21, 2012 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 1802 Madison Avenue, Edwardsville, IL performed by Deacon John Murphy with visitation at the church immediately following the vigil prayer service until 8pm.
Additionally, visitation will be 9am on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 200 North Lange Street, Maryville, IL until the time of Mass at 10am with Fr. Steve Sotiroff celebrant. Other priests will be concelebrating. Deacon of the Mass Jim Ghiglione. Deacons and wives and Deacon candidates and wives will attend. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Edwardsville, IL. There will be a luncheon at Mother of Perpetual Help Parish Center immediately following the burial.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
